SHIRLEY FARRELL

Shirley Farrell has over twenty years of legal experience in all aspects of real estate law including complex build to suit, ground and in-line retail lease transactions on behalf of landlords/developers and tenants, acquisition and disposition of property, property development, operating agreements, office leases, property management, landlord/tenant disputes, eminent domain, petroleum/c-store alliances and real estate litigation. 

Prior to joining Flores & Mihevc, LLC, Shirley worked as in-house counsel for McDonald’s Corporation as Managing Counsel/team manager responsible for over 600 transactions annually for all U.S. McDonald’s leased locations, new restaurant development throughout the United States, and franchise matters involving purchase and sale agreements, enforcement of franchise terms, financial workouts and dispute resolution.  Prior to her work at McDonald’s, Shirley served as in-house counsel for a shopping center development and management company handling all in-house legal work including leases, tenant delinquencies, construction, parcel sales, shopping center acquisitions and refinancing.  Shirley also has experience working for business clients as a part of a general practice law firm concentrating in real estate and corporate law. 

Shirley is a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and served as the Chair for McDonald’s participation in the Street Law Program, an international program providing practical legal education to high school students in diverse communities. 

Shirley received her J.D. from the John Marshall Law School, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Illinois University.
